WAYN: Geremi

Geremi born December 20th, 1978 in Bafoussam, Cameroon sign for Chelsea on July 16th, 2003 from Real Madrid for 7 million pounds.  He is a versatile player who can play central and right midfield and right back.  He was however no stranger to the Premiership or Chelsea having played the 2002/2003 season on loan with Middlesbrough and scoring against Chelsea in a 1-1 away draw.  He made 39 appearances his first season, which included him having time off for the African Nations Cup, picking up one goal and one red card on the way.  His first team appearances then fell off over the next two season as the squad started gain numbers and competition for places increased.  He did see more opportunity in the first team in 2006/2007 making 28 appearances and scoring a great goal from a free kick against West Ham.  However at the end of the season on July 3rd, 2007 he signed on a free transfer to Newcastle where he still plays.  His final Chelsea stats 108 appearances 4 goals.
